Who we are
RedLight Ledger is run by Orenston. It compares red light therapy devices and their prices across sellers. To reach us about anything in this policy, use our contact page.
What we collect
- Email signups (The Ledger). Your email address, the page you signed up on, the date, and whether your browser sent a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.
- Contact form. Your name, email and message.
- Usage counts. When you open a product page or click a seller link, we record which page or link and when. We don’t store your IP address, name or any identifier with these counts.
- Technical data. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and block abuse.
- Cookies. We set none for tracking or advertising. If you click through to a seller, the affiliate network (Sovrn Commerce, via redirect.viglink.com, or a seller’s own program) and the seller may set their own cookies under their own policies. If we ever add analytics cookies, they will load only after you choose “Accept” on a cookie notice, and never when your browser sends GPC.
We don’t ask for health information, and searches on this site aren’t tied to you.
Why we use it
- To send The Ledger, our twice-monthly email of price drops and buying advice, when you ask for it.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To see which pages and products people find useful, and to fix broken links.
- To earn affiliate commissions when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you. See our Disclosure.
Who receives it
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and our database.
- Our email provider, once we start sending The Ledger, only to deliver it.
- Affiliate networks and sellers, through their own cookies, only after you click a seller link.
We don’t sell your personal information for money, and we don’t share your email or messages with anyone else.
Your Privacy Choices
Some US state laws can treat affiliate cookies set after a click as “sharing” for advertising. We don’t run ads or cross-site tracking ourselves, but you can still opt out of any sale or sharing of your information:
- Automatically: turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. We treat it as an opt-out and record it with any signup.
- By request: send us a note on the contact page saying “opt out”. We’ll apply it to anything tied to your email.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it, and you can opt out as described above. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island have these rights by law. Send a request through the contact page. We’ll reply within 45 days. If we refuse, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and we’ll review it again. We won’t treat you differently for using any of these rights.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter signups: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email on a do-not-email list, so we never mail you again, and delete the rest after 30 days.
- Contact messages: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Usage counts: 25 months, then deleted.
- Cloudflare’s own logs follow Cloudflare’s retention.
Children
This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Visitors outside the US
If you’re in the EU, EEA or UK, we rely on your consent for email signups and on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site for usage counts. You can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority. The site is hosted in the US by Cloudflare.
Security and changes
Data is stored with Cloudflare and protected in transit with HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect as little as we can. If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and for material changes we’ll say so on the site.
