Cookies

Short version: RedLight Ledger sets no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. That’s why you don’t see a cookie banner here.

What we use instead of cookies

  • Our own analytics, without cookies. We count page views, clicks, scroll depth and time on page to see what’s useful. It runs on our own site, sets no cookies and never stores your IP address. Visitors are counted with a scrambled code that changes every day. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we record only the page view.
  • Browser storage for your own choices. Your compare list is saved in your browser so it’s still there on the next page. A random ID that lasts only until you close the tab groups one visit’s page views together. Neither is a cookie, and neither is sent to anyone else.

Cookies others may set

  • Cloudflare. Our host may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors from bots. It isn’t used for tracking or advertising.
  • Sellers and affiliate networks, only after you click out. When you click a seller link, you leave our site. Some links pass through an affiliate network (for example Sovrn Commerce, at redirect.viglink.com) or carry a referral code. The network and the seller may then set their own cookies under their own policies, so they can credit us if you buy. Nothing is set until you click.

Your choices

  • You can block or clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings. The site keeps working.
  • Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser and we’ll honor it automatically.
  • More detail is in our Privacy policy, including Your Privacy Choices.
